The Energy Efficiency Movement
Join us in the Energy Efficiency Movement
According to the IEA (International Energy Agency), we must double the global rate of energy efficiency improvements until 2030 to reach net zero by 2050. The necessary technology to do this is accessible, available, affordable, and ready to use today. We just need to make it happen.
That is why Alfa Laval and ABB have joined forces to establish the Energy Efficiency Movement (EEM), a non-profit association with focus set on energy efficiency and accelerating the implementation of energy efficient solutions.
The value of partnerships
The key to creating a decarbonized future is collaboration and strong partnerships, because together, we can accelerate the actions needed to increase global energy efficiency.
The Energy Efficiency Movement brings stakeholders together across many sectors to raise awareness and share solutions. Join the movement to show your commitment to energy efficiency today.
Industrial energy efficiency – A potential 11% cut in global emissions
The Case for Industrial Energy Efficiency is a report published by the Energy Efficiency Movement that provides a straightforward approach to improve energy use and contribute to a sustainable future for industries globally.
The report suggests ten actions that industries can implement today without needing new technology or policy changes. Two of these actions are “Maintain efficient heat exchangers” showing potential savings of up to 2.5% in global carbon emissions, and the impact of “Switching to heat pumps”. Scaling up energy efficiency
We need to collaborate on a wider scale if we are going to speed up the implementation of energy efficient solutions.
That’s why Alfa Laval is committed to driving this scale up with energy efficiency improvements, waste heat recovery, sector coupling and by collaborating with both suppliers and customers.

Re-Made to matter
Alfa Laval and Stena Recycling have teamed up create the smart, sustainable and easy-to-use Re-Made to matter exchange programme. This gives us the possibility to recover as much as 100% of the valuable metals found in old heat exchangers. By replacing them with more modern designs, we can also enable efficiency improvements for energy savings as well as a reduced carbon footprint.
Join the Movement
To reach net zero, we need to double the global rate of energy efficiency every year till 2030. This means ensuring full utilization of energy in the most efficient way and implementing the existing technology to make it happen. Join us in the Energy Efficiency Movement to accelerate the implementation of energy efficient solutions. Together we can accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future.
